Translating and Editing - ongoing
Every Saturday the interns gather at the office. One very important task is translating and editing articles and updates from various NGO's before posting these eye-opening, and often touching, stories onto the East Villagers site. These NGO's include, but are not limited to, YongNing Students, Little Red Scarf Care, Ms. Zhou, Wild Lily, and Light of Love. The links to their blogs are given beside their pictures.
Social Marketing - ongoing
Additionally, interns perform social marketing tasks on the East Villagers and Transparent Fish Fund sites, facebook, tumblr, and twitter. They have utilized various techniques to inform others about social justice and support their cause.
East Villagers Service Scholars Essay & Art Contest
The interns have worked to publicize this incredible contest, which offers monetary scholarships for the top three winners in different categories. The contest, opened to Kindergarten through high school students, allows passionate students to share their inspirational stories. The interns have created rubrics with which to grade the essays and art entries and begun to sift through the incredible submissions.
