It's sad to see how people have to leave their homes because the pollution is that unbearable. I hope to see China making stronger efforts to reduce pollution in the future. I've heard that their pollution has spread across the sea to effect America's air quality. I was shocked by how the air was actually worse in Beijing than in most airport smoking lounges by a whole whopping lot! This scares me because I have relatives who live in Beijing. I start to worry for their well-being, and whether they'll be okay living in Beijing. If it were up to me, I would definitely move away from Beijing. Even if it means leaving a job, it's more important to live in a healthy community. I like being able to go outside, and breathe in a fresh breath of air. I love talking walks in the park, and being able to see white, fluffy clouds in the sky. I think a good environment is important and crucial for living a long and happy life.
Residents who do choose to stay in Beijing should take a couple procautions to ensure their health. For one, they should install air purifiers in every nook and cranny of their houses. They should definitely listen to the warnings sent out, and to stay inside during days that are especially bad. As for the government, they should take more procautions and pass more laws and acts that will limit air pollution. They should focus on the environment instead of their economy for a while, because it seems to me as if they have already improved a good amount already.
